Scotland’s Climate Festival came to an end on 31 March 2022.
We’re incredibly proud of all that has been achieved in the past 130 days, since Scotland’s Climate Festival was launched at COP26. Almost 40 community festivals and events, from Annan to Inverness to the Isle of Raasay focusing on growing, active travel, upcycling, film screening and guided walks and talks have been funded. We have also delivered a programme of national events reaching thousands of people.
We would like to thank you for all that you are doing to help Scotland become a Net Zero country by 2045 and hope that some of the resources available here are a useful legacy of the programme.
Inspiring community-led climate action across Scotland following COP26.
Scotland's Climate Festival supported communities across the country to plan and delivery their own local climate festivals and events, alongside our National event series.
Community Support
Expert support was given to help you organise and promote your local climate event, as well as Seed Funds to get groups up and running. A network of groups was established across the country inspiring communities on climate change and supporting Scotland's transition to net zero.
Each local event that took part in Scotland's Climate Festival was different, drawing on the creativity, connections, skills and interests of its community. Events provided engaging, fun and practical content using a mix of workshops, activities, and artistic and cultural events. Events ranged from single activities to a multi-day festival – or anything in between! We welcomed applications for both physical and online events.
National Event Series
Alongside the community festivals we ran our National series of events, bringing together speakers from Scotland and beyond. The national programme provided different perspectives on important climate issues, while celebrating climate action in Scotland through panel discussions, film screenings, and cultural events. Events were online and in venues and open to everyone in Scotland.
Download our comprehensive 'How To' Guide to help you along the way in holding your event. You can also join the lively online Forum to connect with other climate festival and event organisers.
Connect to our campaigns across Scotland and access useful materials. Explore our national partners who can provide you with specialist content and resources for any type of event.
Add your event to Scotland's Climate Festival map & events calendar and get the Communications Kit of branded marketing materials with templated graphics and press releases.
Join in our national series of inspiring and informative online climate events, free and open to all.
Watch climate conversations from our recent events with leaders and experts from around the world on topics ranging from COP26, Women in Agriculture, the Wellbeing Economy and Storytelling for Change.

About Scotland’s Climate Festival
Following the United Nations COP26 Climate Conference in Glasgow in November, all eyes are on Scotland and the future of climate action. Scotland's Climate Festival amplifies this interest across the country, encouraging climate conversations and actions, thanks to funding from the Scottish Government.
Scotland is working to become a Net Zero nation by 2045. Recognising the importance of local voices and the power of community action is essential if this target is to be met. Local festivals and events help to build vital public support for the ambitious changes needed to tackle the climate crisis. It’s also a chance to listen to the views of local people to help inform action at the local and national level.

We want to help people to understand the scale of the climate emergency and also the need to tackle it. We want to empower people to take action in their own communities and in their own lives. And we want to make sure that people’s voices are heard on the decisions that affect them, here at home and indeed in the discussions at COP26.
- First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon speaking at the launch of Scotland's Climate Festival
